Our sewing class in Bishkek has begun!

These 10 women are our first class of up to 60 students we will be able to offer vocational training in the form of sewing classes to.

They are being trained to use commercial machines to sew and mend. Having this skill, as well as the local language, increases their ability to find work to support their families long-term. AND just look at those smiles! We love seeing people turn from despair to hope with the right intervention.

We are in our second week and these women continue to come for classes, motivated to learn this new skill and build relationships. We are now in the season of Ramadan, a time when these women will be busy with fasting, prayer, and making special meals. They continue to attend classes in the midst of this season. We are so thankful for this opportunity!
